Waste Composting

An environment-friendly company for the sustainability of SEAD projects

SEAD has recently participated in the set up of an environment-friendly company registered in Cambodia. Indeed, SEAD’s strong and extensive experience in terms of management and networking will be a strong support to run a private business meant to generate future incomes that will help ensuring the sustainability of SEAD projects.

The decision of launching such a company associating SEAD to its benefits was due to the fact that uncertainties remain about the possibility to maintain the present effectiveness of the SEAD projects in terms of human management and quality of services to patients after the handover to the government.
For example, in Preah Kossamak hospital Center for Care and Support to People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA), whereas the government will be entirely responsible to provide medical services after the handover in late 2010, its support to human resources will only be partial, while the psychosocial services intended for the patients won’t be taken into consideration at all. The services offered to the patients won’t thus be sufficient to ensure a decent quality of life.

Furthermore, this initiative is in line with the fair trade and shows that this SEAD-affiliated company is socially responsible by reallocating some of its profits to programs supporting vulnerable population like PLHAs.

This company is dedicated to the protection of environment, to the promotion of sustainable energies and to the equitable distribution of resources.

The first project of this firm is focusing on the clean waste management and the setting-up of an organic composting process in Cambodia, with the protection of environment, the development of agriculture and the social issues in view.
